I’ve been getting Burda Style magazine for several years now, and every now and then I see something that I know I have to make. This skirt was one of those things. I made view A which is the shorter version of the skirt. I love the shaped yoke of the skirt. This is described as a wrap-effect skirt. That’s true. It has the look of a wrap which is an easy style to wear.
This is the side view to show the yoke. As you can see, there is a narrow waistband.
The length is perfect for me as well. If you want to make sure that the skirt doesn’t open while wearing, I would suggest using a pin (they used to make large decorative safety pins for that purpose) to keep it closed. The wrap is deep, though so it’s unlikely to just fly open.
I styled it a few different ways. The material I used has blue, black and tan in it so it can go with several different outfits. This skirt, by the way, is unlined. The longer version would be gorgeous in velvet!
And best of all, this is actually very easy to make!!
Until later… Happy sewing!
Thanks Myra!
I absolutely love this skirt on you, very nice job! My favorite look is the last one…it's just something about the color pairings that's esthetically pleasing to my eye, LOL!!
Thanks!
Thanks Tomasa.
Thanks!
Very nice skirt! Love it with the boots.
Lovely skirt!
I love the fabric and it fits you beautifully. That pattern is a winner!
Thank you. I got inspired by seeing your Vogue (I think) skirt post a few days ago!
This turned out beautifully!! I think we will see lots of versions of this skirt, it has very nice details!
