I originally bought this fabric (about 2 years ago) to make a skirt. Since that never happened, I decided to use it to make a jacket. I chose Butterick 4463. In part because I’ve made it before and I’ve always wanted to do it again, but also, the fabric requirements fit with what I had. I made View A which is the short jacket without the belt. This pattern is out of print. It’s an unlined jacket with pockets which is perfect for cooler days. The material I used is a “moleskin” fabric (washable) so it’s sort of like a suede material. It’s thicker than cotton so the heavier weight is nice since it is unlined. I used snaps for the closures this time. I’ve never done that before, so I was really looking forward to giving that a try and I am very pleased with the way it worked out. The skirt I’m wearing in the pictures is the Burda 09-2010-106B. While the picture looks very Fall-like, we are having a mini-heat wave here and I couldn’t wait to get the pictures taken so I could change into some cooler clothes!
Thanks Tanya!
What a cute fall jacket, love it.
