I think I said at the beginning of the year that I was not going to buy fabric this year. Well, I did buy a few new pieces today. I’m planning on making some summer dresses and needed some light, breezy fabric. So I went to JoAnns and found a few that I really liked. All are cotton or cotton blends.
I went through some old patterns that had been given to me by my mother-in-law. I found a few that I might like to try, although they all require alterations (to make them larger). These were before the days of multi size patterns. But I like the long skirt of the pattern in the middle (it’s for knits). And I think the yellow dress is an easy summer dress to make and wear.
So true, Myra! At least I haven't bought as much fabric…
Those are always the "famous last words" (I'm not buying anymore fabric), you can only guess how many times I have said it too! Good luck with your dresses, can't wait to see them.
Thanks Dr. Donna! It may take some time to get the alterations just right, but I really want to give it a try.
I like the idea! I just bought a few vintage patterns from an estate sale and plan to do the same! Your fabric choices look wonderful and I can't wait to see your finsihed dresses!
