2015 Wrap-up and 2016 Plans

Below are some of my favorite pieces that I made last year.

These are the items I find myself wearing most often and what I’m most satisfied with. 2015 was quite a journey. I did the RTW (ready-to-wear) fast again for the second year in a row! I’m definitely not doing it again, although I still haven’t bought any clothing.

For 2016 there is the ongoing goal to continue to challenge myself and grow. As far as particular items I want to make this year or particular goals:

  • an LDB is certainly on the list,
  • buy fewer patterns and use the ones I have (especially the ones I bought and never tried)
  • continue to sew through my fabric stash, although I’ve noticed I have a LOT of prints and not many solids, so I will keep this in mind when purchasing
  • I also want to keep track of yardage sewn this year. I’ve never done this before, but I think it’ll be an interesting tidbit to note at the end of the year

So, what are some of your sewing goals? Do you set goals or just wing-it and make whatever you feel like making? Honestly, I do both.

Next time I’ll show you what I’m currently working on… Until then,

Happy New Year!  And happy sewing!

  1. Hi Denise,

Like you, I would really like to grow this year. I'd like to try new techniques and not just admire others' work but get out there and do it. Thanks for spending so much time on your excellent Blog.

    Helen
